The Day After The Night Before

Hi Everyone.

Just to confirm that, following the AGM on Thursday evening, the Club Officers for the remainder of this season and for the 2013/2014 season, are as follows:

  • Chairman: Brian Maguire
  • Vice-Chairman: Barry Lau
  • Secretary: Helen Weir
  • Treasurer: Matt Jeanes
  • NIPA Rep: Mark Overell

Other Committee Members: Gerald Gribbon, Russell Birch, Paul McGivern

Barry will also be taking on the role of Beginners Liaison officer. Donal McCann, whilst he has stepped down from the Committee, has indicated he is willing to continue to act as mentor for those members seeking accreditation. Michael Byrne has taken on the role of Club Outings Organiser and Gareth O'Cathain has agreed to assist Mark in the NIPA Rep role.

Thanks to all those who attended the AGM and engaged in the lively discussion. Minutes of the AGM and Chairman's report from Barry are attached.

Details of how to renew membership online will soon be circulated - I would encourage all members who intend to rejoin to do so as soon as possible, as this will greatly assist us in planning for the new season.

Finally, a special word of thanks to Barry for his exceptional performance as Chairman over the past year, and for agreeing to stay on as vice-chairman this year, despite the imminent new addition to the Lau family!

I'm looking forward to another great year ahead for BPIC.

Regards

Brian
Club Chairman

Barry, Martin, Aysha, Gareth, Gerald, Steve, Debbie, Dean, Brian & Matt

Today a small, but perfectly well formed, band of intrepid BPIC'ers traveled up hill and down dale all the way to the Ulster American Folk Park. Their goal was to have some fun and take some decent pictures. Here are some of those pictures:

The full gallery can be viewed here.

Thanks to everyone who attended and made it a great day out.

Shadows Interpretation

BPIC won the Top Club Title with a strong performance in the Final 'Shadows' themed Round of the NIPA Inter-club competition. The members put a lot of effort into producing creative pictures with shadows as the main theme - the brief given to members was to produce pictures where a neutral person would say 'that picture is all about shadows' - rather than producing a picture that simply had a shadow in it. The distinction is crucial to success in a themed Round!

The following are some of the images which members produced, some of which were selected as part of the Club entry, and some of which were not selected - but the Club Committee would like to extend its thanks to members for putting so much effort and imagination into the Shadows Competition.
