Coming Up: 16th May - POTY Round 3

Hi All,

To finish up the season as we have the final round of POTY! The theme is panoramic landscapes and as previously mentioned this can include seascapes, cityscapes etc.

"This will be images shot in an abnormal format to what we are use too. To create a panoramic shot, this is typically done my taking a series of photographs along the same plane and stitching together in post production. For those who may find this a daunting task you can create the same format by cropping in on an image. This round can include seascapes, cityscapes as well as landscapes.

Submissions: This will be a PDI only round with entries uploaded to the website (Link will be provided week prior to round) with images resized to 1400px along the landscape edge."

Please upload your submissions (max of 3) no later than 8pm Wednesday 15th May.

Thanks,

Barry Lau
Vice Chairman

The Day After The Night Before

Hi Everyone.

Just to confirm that, following the AGM on Thursday evening, the Club Officers for the remainder of this season and for the 2013/2014 season, are as follows:

  • Chairman: Brian Maguire
  • Vice-Chairman: Barry Lau
  • Secretary: Helen Weir
  • Treasurer: Matt Jeanes
  • NIPA Rep: Mark Overell

Other Committee Members: Gerald Gribbon, Russell Birch, Paul McGivern

Barry will also be taking on the role of Beginners Liaison officer. Donal McCann, whilst he has stepped down from the Committee, has indicated he is willing to continue to act as mentor for those members seeking accreditation. Michael Byrne has taken on the role of Club Outings Organiser and Gareth O'Cathain has agreed to assist Mark in the NIPA Rep role.

Thanks to all those who attended the AGM and engaged in the lively discussion. Minutes of the AGM and Chairman's report from Barry are attached.

Details of how to renew membership online will soon be circulated - I would encourage all members who intend to rejoin to do so as soon as possible, as this will greatly assist us in planning for the new season.

Finally, a special word of thanks to Barry for his exceptional performance as Chairman over the past year, and for agreeing to stay on as vice-chairman this year, despite the imminent new addition to the Lau family!

I'm looking forward to another great year ahead for BPIC.

Regards

Brian
Club Chairman
