Coming Up! Hugh Russell

Hugh Russell:

Ex boxer and Irish News photographer, Hugh has captured the highs and lows in Northern Ireland over his career. Having been at BPIC last year, members were really keen to have him back again. It's fair to say that he is one of those storytellers that you could listen to all night. This year Hugh has a new presentation so definitely a night to book in your diary.

ITS OFFICIAL!!!!!!

BPIC are the first club in Northern Ireland to be affiliated to both NIPA and the IPF (Irish Photographic Federation).

So what does this mean? Well, it's great news for our current members but also for potential members who look to see what a camera club can offer. For example:

BPIC now have around double the competitions to go for. Until now we only had the 5 NIPA interclub rounds.

We can go for distinctions through the IPF.  We have some members already booked for this year and a few more provisionally booked later this year.

We can go to various events which are closer to home including speakers, workshops/courses, attending assessment panels to see how they are conducted etc.

It will also prove a great opportunity to network and to be inspired by a wider circle of photographers.

Coming up: round 1 POTY

Thursday 26 March sees the first of three rounds of the BPIC Photographer of the Year (POTY) competition! The theme is Public Buildings.

There are some great prizes to be had and as this is PDI, everyone is encouraged to enter!
