Donegal man makes good!

Congratulations to 'our man in Donegal' Rory O'Donnell for the fantastic achievement of having one of his aurora images featuring on the front page of the latest edition of Astronomy Ireland, with his wife Joy centre-stage!

"Made the cover with my image of Joy and the Aurora.  Delighted to receive a copy of this months Astronomy Ireland from the editor. I received an email thanking me for submitting some images and that they were going to use some in the next publication. They asked for my address to send a complimentary copy, however I was shocked and delighted to see my image made the front cover."

Well done Rory (and Joy)!

New BPIC Newsletter Launched!

By now all members should have received a digital copy of the new BPIC Newsletter - if you haven't, check your email (including your SPAM folder).

Feedback so far has been very positive - "Cool Newsletter" said one fine upstanding member of the BPIC community.  "+1" said another discerning member, "important club goings on in a bitesize instalment."  "Absolutely amazing" said Rupert Murdoch, "I'm genuinely worried now"  (one of those comments was made up by the way).

So what do you think?  It takes time and effort to put this together so please let us know if it's been worthwhile - can it be improved?  Any suggestions re content and format?  We are very keen for feedback.

Please note that the full newsletter is only available to our members, via email - the front page image below is just a taster!

It's almost here!

The excitement is building....

After a long (and largely sun-free) summer, September is almost here and the new season at BPIC is about to start!

Come along to our open night at Morton Community Centre, Lorne Street, off Lisburn Road in Belfast at 7.30pm on Thursday 3rd September.  Members old and new will be there to hear what the new season has in store and your are guaranteed a warm welcome and even a cup of tea!

A few shots from the enthralling visit of Mark Littlejohn to BPIC

BPIC would like to thank Mark again for the incredibly entertaining night he put on for us at BPIC, Mark was genuinely taken aback at the interest from the audience and of course the applause he recieved at the end.

BPIC wishes to thank Mark, and also the wider photographic community here in Northern Ireland for their attendance and contributions to the night.

THIS IS IT!

The HIGHLIGHT of this BPIC season is finally here!

BPIC would like to welcome "Take A View UK" Landscape Photographer of the Year, Mark Littlejohn to Belfast.

Mark Littlejohn is best known for being the winner of the 2014 Landscape Photographer of the Year.

However, this is not the first accolade of his work. In previous years he has received judges commendations for his entries into the same competition. In 2012 he won third place in the prestigious International Photography Awards in Los Angeles and also in 2012 Pentax used a number of his images in the Salon de la Photo exhibition in Paris.

Mark is a lover of the Lakes and claims to be a hill walker turned photographer. He has lived in the area with his family for over thirty years and has been running workshops in the North Lakes area for the last two years.

Mark specialises in moody, atmospheric early morning conditions and offers bespoke one-to-one workshops and Lakeland tours. His corporate clients include Hunter Boots, Lake District Hotels and Lake District Estates, amongst others.

THIS IS A TICKET ONLY EVENT. THERE WILL BE NO ADMITTANCE WITHOUT TICKETS.

BPIC will be balloting off two signed copies of "Landscape Photographer of the Year" in aid of Marie Curie.
